The Opportunity
As a Project Safety Manager at RCC, you will work directly on-site with project teams to ensure safe outcomes for all workers and maintain compliance with safety standards. This is a practical, hands-on role focused on implementing safety procedures, conducting inspections, and supporting the team day-to-day to achieve a safe and injury-free workplace.
- Provide practical, on-site leadership for the implementation and maintenance of safety programs. Work directly with site teams to ensure safe work practices are followed every day.
- Actively manage and support all RCC project personnel to meet and exceed safety objectives outlined in the Project Management Plan. Drive compliance through daily engagement and monitoring.
- Ensure all site activities comply with health and safety regulations and company standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain compliance.
- Lead investigations of safety incidents and near misses on site. Implement corrective and preventive actions promptly to address root causes.
- Identify and assess risks associated with site operations. Apply practical risk control measures to mitigate hazards and keep the workforce safe.
- Look for opportunities to improve safety practices and performance on site. Share lessons learned and implement changes that make a real difference.
- Communicate safety expectations clearly to site teams. Deliver toolbox talks, run risk workshops, and raise safety concerns in project meetings.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to creating and maintaining a safe, injury-free construction site every day.
- Education & Experience – Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Sector Experience – Proven experience in safety management in the construction industry.
- Skills & Expertise – Familiarity with safety management systems and their implementation. Previous involvement in safety training, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Attention to Detail – In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards.
- Team Player – Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, project managers, and external stakeholders.
