This role operates within the Intelligent Devices business, partnering closely with sales and commercial engineering teams to develop and position advanced automation and AMR solutions. The consultant acts as a trusted advisor to customers across key ANZ industries including CPG & FMCG manufacturing, supporting both machine-level automation and plant-wide material flow optimization initiatives. The role is typically hybrid, with regular customer engagement and regional travel.

You will report to Regional Business / Sales Leader – Intelligent Devices based in Australia.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Solution Architecture & Design- Design integrated mechatronic solutions combining motion, drives, control systems, and AMRs, tailored for CPG & FMCG manufacturing (high-speed production lines, packaging, smart machines)

  • AMR Domain Expertise- Lead the development of AMR use cases including intralogistics optimisation, warehouse automation, work-in-progress movement, and plant material flow; support site assessments and business case development across ANZ customers.

  • Specification & Market Influence- Engage early in customer design cycles (OEMs, EPCs, end users) to influence architecture decisions and drive specification of Rockwell Automation platforms, particularly in growth segments such as CPG & FMGC digitisation.

  • Enablement & Capability Building- Deliver training and technical guidance to sales teams, channel partners, and customers to build capability and drive adoption of motion, LV drives, and AMR technologies across ANZ.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent experience)

  • Proven experience in industrial automation, motion control, or drives

  • Exposure to robotics, automation, or intralogistics systems

  • Experience in customer-facing or pre-sales technical roles

  • Understanding of industrial environments such as CPG & FMGC manufacturing, or logistics operations

  • Ability to travel within the ANZ region (~30–50%)

  • Valid driver’s license

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Experience with AMR solutions, fleet management systems, or intralogistics optimisation

  • Strong knowledge of Rockwell Automation portfolio (e.g. PowerFlex, Kinetix, Studio 5000)

  • Experience designing integrated automation architectures across production and logistics environments

  • Experience in ANZ industries such as:

  • FMCG (high-speed manufacturing and packaging)

  • Warehousing (distribution centers, automated logistics)

  • Exposure to digital engineering concepts (simulation, digital twins, system modelling)

  • Experience influencing customer specifications and working with OEMs and system integrators

  • Ability to perform system-level trade-offs across cost, performance, and scalability
