About the Opportunity

The Portfolio Manager – Surface Drill provides both process and commercial input to the Sandvik Parts and Service Business Line, supporting the development and execution of strategies that drive continuous growth and maximise profitable and sustainable wallet share across assigned portfolio categories. This role is responsible for managing the Surface Drill portfolio within the sales area, ensuring offerings are tailored to meet customer needs and aligned with local market requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Define product line categories and develop tailored aftermarket strategies
  • Analyse fleet gaps to identify category growth opportunities
  • Develop aftermarket offerings (components, rebuilds, kits and consumables) in collaboration with Global Category teams
  • Support Sales Areas with new product launches, including sales and support material
  • Set and manage pricing strategies across Surface Drill portfolio categories
  • Map market share and identify opportunities by customer and site with Sales Managers/PSSRs
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on performance, opportunities and market share
  • Develop strategies aligned with circularity principles
  • Monitor and improve DIFOT performance across portfolio categories
  • Support demand planning and forecasting to ensure supply availability
  • Track competitor product development and performance
  • Deliver agreed business growth targets

About you

The successful candidate will hold a relevant technical, trade or business qualification (diploma or degree). They will bring demonstrated field sales experience within the mining or equipment sector, along with strong commercial acumen and an ability to drive value-based aftermarket business (highly regarded).You will be customer-focused, with strong time management and exceptional organisational skills. You will make sound, data-informed decisions, applying logic and critical thinking while recognising the limitations of available information .You are able to identify meaningful patterns in data to support fact-based decision-making, and bring strong negotiation skills, with the ability to influence outcomes, guide discussions and identify opportunities to bundle solutions.

Experience in equipment and aftermarket sales and service is essential, along with the ability to articulate product and service advantages to strengthen sales growth, enhance customer support and drive value selling.
