The role
As the Rock Tools - Regional Planning Manager for Australia/New Zealand and Southeast Asia, your primary responsibility is to oversee the regional customer demand forecasting process and logistics network. Leading a team of Regional Demand Planners and Regional Inventory Planners, you take a proactive approach in developing both strategic and operational aspects of the operations. Your focus includes implementing standardized ways of working efficiently to ensure the benefits of digitalization are realized in planning, order flow, and inbound/outbound synergies.
Your deep understanding of the company's processes and customers' operational needs enables you to optimize production-to-distribution processes, ensuring seamless operations and customer satisfaction. Collaborating with various stakeholders, including Rock Tools Sales, Operations, Commercial Contracts Teams, and Sandvik's Warehousing and Logistics business, you aim to achieve high standards of internal and external customer satisfaction while continuously driving improvements in the Sales and Operational Planning value chain.
The position is based in either the Brisbane, Milton (Qld) Newcastle (NSW) or Perth (WA) Office, and it may involve some national and international travel.
Areas of responsibility
- Act as the key point of contact for all Supply Chain requirements for all Rock Tools products.
- Accountable for accurate Regional Demand/Supply planning processes including the Regional Statistical Forecast.
- Provide support for regional sales forecast in interaction with the Business Line Manager and their Management Team.
- Chair monthly Regional S&OP meeting for all product lines and validating the regional demand.
- Accountable for all aspects of order management once the customer order has been created, looking to automate as much of the processes to avoid manual intervention whenever is possible.
- Continuous Improvement of the existing inventory & demand planning processes to avoid manual intervention whenever is possible.
- Responsible to manage inventory parameter settings in local warehouses & consignments for all product lines in cooperation with the Global Planner and BLM and accountable for In-Market warehouses.
- Responsible to manage inventory replenishments to local warehouses & consignments stockrooms while maintaining lower net working capital.
- Manage returns to market area and support returns from In-Market warehouses in cooperation with Global Planner.
- Accountable for operational performance, e.g., Air Freight Ratio, Inventory Development (DII & OSMI ratio), Delivery Performance, Fill Rate.
- Accountable for maintaining the Rock Tools Network Design in the region in cooperation with global planning.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Provide regular report to the management with respect to the implementation of strategies, and plans in demand and supply planning between Global Operations Rock Tools and the SA Business Line
- Day to day management of a team of planners and other staff.
- Keep close contact and information sharing with local stakeholders.
Your profile
Your background is formed within the field of supply chain and logistics, and you have extensive experience from demand planning, distribution networks and forecasting. We believe that your career includes similar position, as well as experience from leading teams. You’re skilled at influencing various situations and managing the full spectrum of expectations that comes from both global operations and regional functions. You are flexible and open-minded attitude is a great tool when facing people from different cultures.
