At Schneider Electric, the future is more electric, more digital and more sustainable.

We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager – Major Contractors to grow our Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) Distribution business across Victoria.

This is an opportunity to work at the heart of Australia's evolving energy and infrastructure market — partnering with major electrical contractors, influencing significant projects and positioning Schneider Electric's power distribution technologies where they can make the greatest impact.

If you understand the electrical market, know how major projects are won and enjoy building relationships that turn into long-term business, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

You'll take a strategic approach to developing Schneider Electric's position with major electrical contractors across Victoria, identifying opportunities early and influencing projects throughout the sales cycle.

Acting as a trusted MV specialist and commercial partner, you'll work alongside our Victoria sales team and broader technical community to turn customer and project needs into compelling Schneider Electric solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Drive profitable growth across our Medium and Low Voltage Distribution portfolio
  • Develop strategic relationships with major electrical contractors and key industry stakeholders
  • Identify major projects early and build a strong, sustainable opportunity pipeline
  • Engage with estimators, project managers, engineers and commercial decision-makers
  • Understand project drivers and influence specifications and solution choices
  • Develop strategic account and opportunity plans for priority customers and projects
  • Bring together product, technical and commercial expertise to create differentiated customer solutions
  • Support tender strategy, commercial negotiations and strategic deal planning
  • Partner with sales team to increase customer penetration and project conversion
  • Manage opportunities, forecasts and customer activity through CRM and structured sales methodologies

What Will Make You Successful?

We're looking for someone who combines electrical industry knowledge, commercial capability and genuine business development experience.

You'll ideally bring:

  • An Electrical Trade Qualification, Electrical Engineering Degree, or equivalent industry expertise
  • 5+ years' experience in business development, sales or key account management within the electrical, power, energy, industrial or automation market
  • Strong understanding of Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, power distribution or electrical infrastructure solutions
  • Experience developing relationships with electrical contractors and project-based customers
  • A demonstrated track record of identifying, developing and converting complex project opportunities
  • Experience with project-based and consultative solution selling
  • Exposure to tenders, quotations and commercial negotiations
  • Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of the business drivers behind customer decisions
  • Excellent influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to collaborate across Sales, Product, Engineering and specialist teams

Why Schneider Electric?

This isn't simply about selling products. It's an opportunity to influence how major projects are designed, powered and delivered.

At Schneider Electric, you'll have access to a broad portfolio of power distribution and energy management technologies, backed by global expertise and a strong local team.

You'll also benefit from:

  • Career development opportunities within a global organisation
  • Exposure to major infrastructure, commercial and energy projects
  • Industry-leading technology and solutions
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • A collaborative and inclusive environment
  • Competitive remuneration and incentive opportunities
  • The opportunity to contribute to the future of electrification, digitalisation and sustainability

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you know the electrical market, understand how to navigate major projects and can build trusted relationships with contractors and decision-makers, we'd love to hear from you.

Join Schneider Electric and help shape a more electric, digital and sustainable future.
