Our Buildings business creates integrated, multi-layered solutions that specialize in combining building services & intelligent automated systems. Our solutions enable owners, end users and custodians (such as; Commercial buildings, Hospitals and Data Centers), to intelligently monitor, meter and control the attributes of their assets in real time, reducing consumption and improving reliability and quality.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Sales team. Based in Brisbane and reporting directly to the National Sales Director, this position is responsible for generating leads, opportunities and securing sales through fierce business partnering and negotiations. The role will primarily be sourcing sales focused on Major Pursuits in our target segments and will partner closely with large scale clients to strategically design total building management solutions, utilizing our EcoStructure platform which drives efficiencies and sustainability for the client and grow the services delivered by Schneider Electric, whilt giving cient schoice and open data.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Work as a true sales hunter, generating and following up on leads and creating interest in Schneider’s offerings;
- Achieve growth through solid relationships with prospective clients, gaining detailed understanding of their needs, pain points and strategic direction;
- Communicate and interact with business decision makers at all levels to identify needs and requirements as well as market opportunities;
- Negotiate and close sales:
- Work with marketing management to ensure promotional activity is carried out to enhance the company image and increase brand awareness;
- Provide regular feedback on Schneider's positioning in the marketplace;
- Utilization of internal resources ensuring the effective coordination of client meetings, presentation preparation and delivery to all levels of the client’s organization.
About You?

You are focused, collaborative and passionate about sustainability outcomes. In addition, you have the following skills:
- A proven track record with solution selling to large scale, complex clients;
- Familiarity with selling digital offerings
- Solid experience within the Building Management and Sustainability industry, and either selling to or from clients as an End User or a Consultant;
- Persistence to follow up of leads and movement of prospects through the sales cycle;
- Experience in managing tenders, and tailoring tenders to provide unique solutions to suit customer requirements;
- The ability to develop a bid strategy and bring it to life;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience in presenting and liaising with many different senior stakeholders within the C-suite of major local and global companies;
- Tertiary qualified, complemented with excellent customer service experience in direct customer facing role i.e. Sales or Client Relationship Manager.
