Role : Data Analyst - Databricks:
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Analyse insurance datasets (policies, claims, risk, customer, operational data) to generate insights that support business decisions.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical outputs and communicate findings to stakeholders in a clear, structured manner.
- Participate in stakeholder discussions, workshops, and requirement‑gathering sessions document business needs, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Use Jira to manage user stories, track project progress, and support Agile delivery workflows.
- Maintain project documentation, requirements, and knowledge repositories using Confluence.
- Support UAT activities and ensure solutions meet business and compliance expectations.
- Design and optimise data pipelines using Databricks, Python, and SQL to deliver scalable, high‑performance analytics capabilities.
- Work with modern cloud data warehouses such as Amazon Redshift and Snowflake for scalable data processing and analytics.
- Develop and maintain data transformation workflows using dbt (Data Build Tool).
- Refactor and migrate legacy SAS processes into modern frameworks aligned with cloud and data engineering best practices.
- Implement workflow automation and data quality improvements to enhance governance and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with actuarial, analytics, and IT teams to align technical delivery with business outcomes.
- Maintain documentation, contribute to reusable assets, and support ongoing knowledge transition.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Databricks for building and optimising data pipelines.
- Experience migrating or modernizing legacy data systems (preferably SAS) into cloud‑ready solutions.
- Hands‑on experience with Amazon Redshift or Snowflake for data warehousing.
- Experience with dbt for data modelling, transformation, and lineage tracking.
- Understanding of Salesforce data structures and experience integrating Salesforce datasets.
- Experience working with insurance or financial services datasets is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of cloud data environments, version control (Git), and modern engineering practices.
- Experience using Jira for Agile project tracking and sprint management.
- Familiarity with Confluence for documentation, collaboration, and knowledge management.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills with the ability to engage both business and technical audiences.
- Ability to manage priorities, operate independently, and deliver high‑quality outcomes in a fast‑paced environment.
