The Opportunity
Ready to make an immediate impact? Reporting into the Head of Data and Analytics, the Data Governance Lead is a pivotal role to enable and foster Sigma cultural change.
This position will champion the implementation of Sigma's Data Governance Framework, driving compliance, elevating data literacy, and embedding federated data decision-making across business units.
The role ensures the responsible use of data and AI technologies while aligning governance with Sigma's digital transformation goals.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of the Sigma Data Governance Framework.
- Develop data governance artefacts such as standards, policies, risk definitions, controls, procedures, and policies
- Implement data governance processes and lead change management across business units
- Ensure compliance with the Australian Privacy Act, ACCC regulations, and other relevant standards
- Contribute to the development of self-service data handling or management practices and decision-making capability
- Establish AI governance frameworks, ensuring ethical and compliant use of predictive models and machine learning
We are looking for:
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Data, Analytics, or other related discipline
- 5+ years’ experience as a data governance or information management professional in relevant technology related roles
- Proven experience in implementing data governance
- Proven experience in implementing controls
- Proven experience in data stewardship principles and stakeholder management to
- Expertise in leading data governance and data quality frameworks
