The Opportunity
Ready to make an immediate impact? Reporting into the General Counsel & Company Secretary, the Compliance Lead will be accountable for managing areas of key corporate compliance within the business.
A core area of this accountability will be the compliance requirements associated with Sigma’s undertaking (Undertaking) provided to the ACCC in relation to the proposed merger between Sigma and Chemist Warehouse. This is a senior key compliance role within the business and provides the opportunity to be part of a well-regarded Legal team in a dynamic business..
Key Responsibilities include:
- In consultation with key business stakeholders, develop and implement a fit-for-purpose, auditable compliance framework which delivers
- Conducting assessment and monitoring of Sigma’s compliance with the ACCC s 87b Undertaking and other relevant regulatory obligations
- The development and maintenance of reporting tools for Board Committees and Management.
- Assisting the duties of the Sigma Information Compliance Officer which includes the day-to-day responsibility for monitoring Sigma’s compliance with the management non-retention of cConfidential dData for exiting customers, and maintaining a register of specified Personnel as defined in the Undertaking.
- The development, maintenance and completion of all training and attestations associated with the obligations related to the Undertaking and corporate compliance undertakings.
- Ensuring the content of the training meets as a minimum, the requirements of the Undertaking.
- Responding to requests from the Independent Auditor, action any recommendations made by the Approved Independent Auditor and comply with any direction of the ACCC in relation to matters arising from the Audit Report within the advised timeframes provided by the ACCC.
We are looking for:
- A tertiary qualification in law or commerce
- 8+ years in compliance risk management
- Proven ability to design, establish, and maintain compliance frameworks and policies.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present to senior management and the Board.
- Exposure to the ACCC regulatory regime, and experience in the wholesale/retail pharmaceutical industry is desirable.
