About Snowy:

Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the iconic Snowy Hydro-electric Scheme, gas and diesel electricity generating plants, and contracted wind and solar energy in the National Electricity Market. We also provide electricity and gas to over 1.5 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy.

Snowy 2.0, currently under construction, is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

About the position:

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Project Engineer (Electrical) to join the Snowy 2.0 Owners team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing onsite engineering oversight and assurance of electrical construction and installation activities, ensuring that all works are delivered to the highest standards and in strict accordance with the Employer’s Requirements (ER).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Leadership: Champion a culture of safety by implementing plans and modeling behaviors consistent with Snowy Values.

  • Construction Oversight: Provide assurance that the contractor is complying with design requirements, specifications, and the latest IFC drawings.

  • Proactive Monitoring: Constantly review contractor activities to detect performance deficiencies, discrepancies, or faults early.

  • Technical Coordination: Conduct reviews of Safety in Design studies, risk assessments, and construction documentation.

  • Reporting: Monitor and prepare daily reports on site progress, including plant, equipment, KPIs, and resource management.

  • Documentation Management: Manage and maintain accurate, accessible records, including ITP progress and NCR registers

About the location:

This role will require you to be 100% on-site, working off a 14/7 FIFO roster. Standard FIFO camp-style arrangements are included.

About you:

  • Qualifications: Recognised tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience: Experience on large-scale, complex civil or infrastructure projects and knowledge of EM installation.

  • Project Expertise: Demonstrated experience in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects with multiple contract interfaces.

  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of construction and E&M installation is highly regarded.

  • Soft Skills: Ability to work autonomously and establish priorities without supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. A flexible, resilient attitude with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business demands.

  • Values: A high level of alignment with Project Delivery and Snowy Hydro corporate values

About our workforce:

Diversity and inclusion is important to us: Snowy Hydro has a culture of decency and inclusion, with a commitment to the health and wellbeing of our people and a supportive environment to ensure that everyone - regardless of background - feels included and can succeed.
