Passionate about leading regional technical excellence? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Manager Plant Engineering to lead the regional engineering function and manage plant improvements in the Lower Tumut region.
The role:
As the Plant Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing the safe, reliable and efficient operation of regional plant by leading the regional plant engineering team. You will guide and mentor a multidisciplinary team of plant engineers to prioritise regional work with the Operations & Maintenance team, balancing plant risk and availability.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Manage, guide, and develop the regional engineering team to maximise team effectiveness, engagement, and achieve business objectives
- Determine the objectives and priorities of the regional engineering team to achieve alignment with the strategic direction of Operations & Maintenance
- Manage team workload, resourcing, performance reviews and professional development requirements
- Be proactive, accountable and focused on continuous improvement, by driving the need for standardisation and consistency of approach.
- Lead, review and approve all regional defect investigations to ensure root cause is being adequately addressed to prevent reoccurrence and ensure maximum plant availability and capability.
- Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with the policies, procedures and processes of the Clean Green and Safe Management System
- Review and approve recommended regional work requests to ensure alignment with both plant and business needs
- Lead and drive the identification of both technical and process improvements of all regional maintenance work in accordance with the work review process
We’re ideally looking for someone with:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills and experience
- Significant experience in plant reliability with strong fault finding and plant diagnostic skills
- Experience in budgeting and cost control
- Demonstrated success in managing safety, environment and process improvement
- Sound technical knowledge of heavy industry plant
- Good technology skills with a solid understanding of spreadsheets and statistical analysis
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders and customers
