About the position:
We are looking for a Transport & Mobile Plant Officer to provide the Overhaul Execution team with a safe, reliable, and efficient inter-regional distribution and delivery service across all Snowy regional locations. In this role, you will report to the Outage Manager and assist with procurement, inventory, goods movement, dispatch, and coordination of transports. This role is based in the Murray region.
Key Responsibilities:

Load, deliver and unload equipment and goods throughout the Snowy Hydro regions and to other areas or suppliers, as directed, operating trucks, vehicles and forklifts.

Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

Supervise others and ensure the safe loading and unloading of trucks.

Arrange timely servicing of all freight equipment including vehicles, machinery, accessories and equipment.

Maintain security of North Laverton stores.

Dangerous goods handling and management.

Practical application of National Heavy Vehicle Regulator Load Restraint Guidelines when preparing, loading, transporting and unloading equipment and goods.

Maintain and upkeep transport management records, including National Driver Work Diary and other internal documentation as required.

Conduct Level 1 Critical Control Verifications (CCV’S) for Chain of Responsibility, Load Restraint and Mobile Crane Operations.
What we're looking for:

Medium Rigid Drivers license, forklift license and mobile crane, with demonstrated competence in the operation of medium rigid vehicles and forklifts. Heavy combination (truck and trailer) licence is preferred

Knowledge of stores and supplier environment including stores and warehouse procedures and the storage and handling of goods.

Experience in the use of computer applications and systems to manage assignments and works (ideally Google Workspace and Ellipse).

Communication skills across all levels of the organisation

Experience in receiving and dispatching items

Understanding of legislation regarding the transportation of dangerous goods and chain of responsibility for transport industry

Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures relating to the operational, maintenance and loading of goods on medium rigid vehicles and forklift truck operations
