Start Your Snowy Story

Are you ready to be part of a world-class project that’s reshaping Australia’s energy future? Snowy 2.0, the largest renewable energy initiative in the country, is an ambitious expansion of the iconic Snowy Scheme. Focused on providing on-demand power and vast storage capacity, this project is paving the way for a sustainable, low-carbon future.

The Role

Based on the Snowy 2.0 Project, this role is responsible for providing onsite project engineering oversight and assurance of civil construction works on behalf of the 2.0 Owners Team. The position monitors contractor activities to ensure all works meet contractual obligations and are delivered in accordance with the Employer’s Requirements (ER).

The primary purpose of the role is to proactively oversee and verify that construction outcomes align with the ER and contract conditions.

This is a 2-year fixed-term contract operating on a 14/7 FIFO roster, based onsite at Lobs Hole.

Key Responsibilities:

Health and Safety

  • Lead and promote high standards of health and safety in line with Snowy values and policies.

  • Implement safety plans and lead by example on site.

Construction Oversight

  • Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with Employer’s Requirements, drawings and specifications.

  • Identify and report issues early to prevent delays, defects or long-term asset risks.

  • Review IFC drawings and documentation, escalating discrepancies to the Construction Manager.

  • Attend inspections, tests, witness and hold points in line with project requirements.

  • Act in the Quality Manager role during roster absences.

Quality Assurance & Reporting

  • Oversee civil construction quality to ensure works meet contractual and project requirements.

  • Maintain accurate site records, drawings, NCRs and ITP registers.

  • Monitor contractor IPTs (6-week lookahead) and attend quality audits.

  • Prepare daily site reports (resources, plant, KIPs, weather, access conditions).

  • Ensure all QA communications and documentation are managed through ACONEX.

  • Provide technical support to Surveillance and Assurance Officers.

  • Maintain consistent physical site presence across active work fronts.

You'll Bring

A degree in Engineering that meets the requirements for Corporate Membership with Engineers Australia, together with experience delivering large, complex civil or infrastructure projects. You bring strong engineering and construction skills, with the ability to interpret scopes, drawings and specifications and implement safe, practical solutions. You are confident in managing contractors and consultants, and communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders. You work effectively both onsite and remotely, contribute well within a team, and take ownership of your responsibilities. You adapt to changing project demands and have sound knowledge of quality, WHS, EEO and environmental standards.

The Team

At Snowy 2.0, we live by the principle of "One Team Working Together." If you’re a problem-solver with a passion for driving change and making a real impact, we want to hear from you! Join us in shaping the future of renewable energy and apply now. Together, we’ll deliver one of the most significant infrastructure projects in Australia’s history.
