Start Your Snowy Story

Are you ready to be part of a world-class project that’s reshaping Australia’s energy future? Snowy 2.0, the largest renewable energy initiative in the country, is an ambitious expansion of the iconic Snowy Scheme. Focused on providing on-demand power and vast storage capacity, this project is paving the way for a sustainable, low-carbon future.

The Role

Based on the Snowy 2.0 Project, this role is responsible for delivering project engineering oversight and quality assurance across all mechanical manufacturing, preservation and site-based installation works on behalf of the 2.0 Owner’s Team. Reporting to the Quality Lead – Construction, the primary purpose of the position is to proactively ensure the Employer’s Requirements (ERs) are met in accordance with the contract.

This is a 2-year fixed-term contract based on site, operating on a 14/7 roster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest standards of health and safety, lead by example, and act in line with Snowy values and SHL Health & Safety policies.

  • Ensure all works meet the Employer’s Requirements and proactively prevent short, medium and long-term quality or operational risks.

  • Implement and support the project quality strategy to avoid manufacturing or construction-related legacy issues.

  • Oversee mechanical manufacturing activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications and Employer’s Requirements.

  • Coordinate and attend hold and witness points, and review contractor documentation for compliance.

  • Conduct site-based quality oversight of installation and fit-out works to ensure alignment with IFC drawings, specifications and current design revisions.

  • Monitor contractor performance to identify deficiencies early and prevent delays or quality reduction.

  • Ensure inspections, testing and corrective actions are completed in the best interest of the project.

  • Review contractor lot and manufacturing records in line with project quality principles.

  • Prepare and monitor daily quality reports and provide updates to the Quality Lead.

What You'll Bring

A degree in Engineering that meets the requirements for Corporate Membership with Engineers Australia, together with experience delivering large, complex mechanical engineering projects in construction environments. You bring strong quality management capability and solid engineering and manufacturing knowledge. You work well in a team and independently, take ownership of your responsibilities, adapt quickly to changing demands, and can confidently read and interpret scopes, specifications and drawings to develop safe and practical methods to deliver the work.

The Team

At Snowy 2.0, we live by the principle of "One Team Working Together." If you’re a problem-solver with a passion for driving change and making a real impact, we want to hear from you! Join us in shaping the future of renewable energy and apply now. Together, we’ll deliver one of the most significant infrastructure projects in Australia’s history.
