The role
The Treatment Plants Planning team is responsile for ensuring South East Water's treatment facilities are capable of meeting their performance objectives. This includes ensuring there is adequate capacity to meet forecast loads, whilst ensuring environmental and public health standards and customer commitments can be met. I
You will be required to assist planning activities for sewage treatment facilities including:
- Flow and load forecasting, master planning, options assessments and early-stage concept and feasibility studies
- Develop major and minor projects through to functional design
- Investigate treatment plant performance issues and develop solutions
- Undertake process, chemical, energy and greenhouse gas emission optimisation of existing and proposed assets
- Manage projects
- Contribute to identification and investigation of resource recovery opportunities for existing and proposed assets
- Contribute to and maintain Asset Management Plans for treatment facilities
- On occasion, interact with external authorities including other water corporations, VicWater, Victorian EPA, DEECA and shire councils amongst others
Who are you?
- A Bachelor degree in Engineering, preferably either in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering with process major.
- Highly developed analytical skills with a passion for solving complex problems
- Ability to identify, and mitigate potential risks to projects and South East Water
- Clear customer focus and strong stakeholder management, internal and external
- Ability to understand and write clear, unambiguous technical reports, business cases, project briefs, board papers, workshop reports, meeting minutes.
- Undertake complex technical work with a high level of autonomy,
- High level of verbal communication skills to inform, influence and exchange knowledge
- Plan and manage projects from inception to completion.
