The role

South East Water (SEW) is currently seeking a Risk and Assurance Officer for a short-term 6-month period. Acting as a partner and trusted advisor on risk, compliance and insurance matters, the role will be responsible for:

• Leading and coordinating South East Water’s internal audit program
• Performing risk assessments and compliance assurance reviews across the organisation
• Assisting with the insurance claims process
• Coordinating business continuity governance activities
• Providing support to the Acting Risk, Assurance and Quality Manager.

More broadly, these services will underpin SEW's strategic objectives by providing a sound framework around decision making and loss mitigation.

Who are you?

Due to the relatively short nature of the role, candidates must be widely experienced in a risk management, audit, internal control or quality assurance role within a government authority or major utility in order to hit the ground running. They will be deft at identifying and managing risks associated with key deliverables and projects and possess a strong knowledge of insurance processes and business continuity.

With a minimum of five (5) years' experience in similar roles and a results-driven nature in regard to leading and managing programs of work on time and within budget, candidates will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to challenge behaviours in a constructive manner, whilst adding value, improving practices and providing solutions.
