The role
The Contracts Manager is responsible for uplifting the maturity of Iota’s contracts and contactor management function. This means ensuring all contracts entered into by Iota meet all commercial and legal requirements, whilst adhering to relevant company policies and procedures. The role will also be involved, as required, in contract negotiations with suppliers, sub-contractors, partners and customers.
The Contracts Manager will provide professional and technical advice relating to contracts and the provision of services. The role will manage the Iota procurement processes in alignment with its parent company South East Water and reporting associated with the provision of services and products e.g. local jobs first, modern slavery act, ESG. The successful incumbent will continually look to improve the management and governance oversight of all contracted services, including enhancing performance outcomes achieved. The role may also be required to co-ordinate the preparation of bids and proposals and contribute to developing the bid in partnership with business development and sales teams.

Who are you?
In order to be considered for this role, candidates will hold a tertiary qualification in a related field (Business, Project Management, etc.) and knowledge of the water industry, plumbing or utilities sector would be well regarded.
As well as the above, candidates will need to possess the following key skills, experience and knowledge:
- Strong commercial acumen, with an understanding of different contract types, commercial and technical risks, interpreting contract specifications, and the management of the contract function within a business etc.
- In-depth knowledge of project and contract management procedures and the ability to add value on review and enhancement of existing policies, principles, processes and procedures.
- Excellent document management skills and experience in establishing and maintaining clear and consistent document standards, templates, naming and filing.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and collating reporting associated with contract performance (KPIs/SLAs) and procurement (ideally government based, e.g. local jobs first etc).
- High level interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrable ability to successfully conduct complex negotiations and influence and persuade people at all levels.
- Proven ability to analyse complex problems, identify critical issues and develop strategies for delivering solutions.
