About the role
This permanent opportunity will report to the Supervisor Tyres. The role incorporates working as part of a team, performing planned tasks and tyre maintenance on mobile fleet.
This role is being offered as residential on Groote Eylandt or as FIFO from Darwin or Cairns on a 7:7 roster.
Accountabilities include:
- Remove, repair and refit tyres and wheel assemblies on heavy earthmoving mining equipment as required
- Perform regular tyre inflation pressure checks, adjust, report, capturing all data i.e., tread depths, tyre pressure, tyre change information etc.
- Execute the weekly tyre maintenance schedule and be flexible on changes
- Maintain good verbal communication with team members and other department areas
- Ensure a high level of service to everyone who operates rubber tyre equipment at GEMCO
About you
You’re a good fit with this role if you have the following attributes:
- Cert III in Heavy Duty Tyre Fitting with RIISAM210 & RIISAM211 or equivalent
- C Class Drivers Licence
- 2 years’ experience working with the mining and heavy earthmoving industry or mobile maintenance
- Experience in tyre maintenance for earthmoving equipment, road trains, industrial and agricultural equipment
- High Risk ticket (Forklift)
- Excellent customer service skills, with a strong team approach with the ability to develop professional working relationships
