Groote Eylandt Mining Company (GEMCO), a South32 Company, is one of the world's largest manganese mining and concentrating operations located in the Northern Territory. The operation is accountable for over 20% of the worlds' manganese ore production. GEMCO controls and operates all aspects of mining, processing, logistics and shipping on Groote Eylandt.

About the role

This role is a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Cairns.

Reporting to the Manager Digital Technology, you will help bring changes and improvements to how people work, create and communicate across the GEMCO operation. You will facilitate and ensure the successful and timely delivery of Technology projects.

A crucial part of this role is to engage with key stakeholders of Technology and Operations to build a deep understanding of the strategy and value drivers.

You will maintain a close working relationship between Technology, Operations and external partners/providers to ensure successful innovation and evolving technologies can be integrated into the operation.

Key accountabilities -

• Contribute to the Technology project prioritisation and pipeline management process to represent the Operations priorities
• Continuously identify improvement opportunities and possible technology solutions
• Oversee and provide input into functional and non-functional testing processes and scripts
• Ensure best practices in the delivery of projects with consideration to safety, productivity and cost
• Create and maintain project documentation (project plans, resource plans, status reports etc)

About you

You will prioritise safety and have practical project management expertise, preferably in the Mining or Heavy industry.

In addition, you will have-

• Ability to influence and manage project resources to achieve desired outcomes
• Well-rounded understanding of technology, key functional and operational business processes
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality analysis and documentation that captures the vision and translates into requirement(s)
• Ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences including strong presentation and workshop facilitation skills
