Reporting to the Lead Scheduling you will be responsible for providing specialist advice and execute tasks related to the development of the 3-month plans, designs, models, schedules, and forecasts for the operation to enable the effective completion of production activities. The Scheduling process must ensure safe, cost effective and continuous production that meets all quality considerations. This role will be offered on a Permanent basis.

This role is based at the Boddington Bauxite Mine located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes) and the City of Mandurah (1 hour).

Surrounded by magnificent jarrah forests, pristine beaches and world-famous wineries, you will live and work in one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia and still be home each night.

Accountabilities

  • Development of the rolling 3-month plan and schedule for the mine operation incorporating production, development and rehabilitation activities that supports refinery production targets.
  • Ensure that the 3-month plan is in alignment with the medium-term plan and budget.
  • Align the production schedule with the Maintenance Work Management schedules.
  • Deliver and communicate the 3-month plan that extracts maximum value from the resources whilst incorporating Operational inputs as well as input from other internal and external stakeholders to enable precision execution.
  • Communicate to the Lead Scheduling of any material changes to the short-term schedule.
  • Contribute to the development and adherence of Production Planning standards and processes.
  • Participate in the investigation of reported events for Production Planning.
  • Identify and implement Production Planning improvement initiatives.

About You   

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in mine design, planning and scheduling surface mining operations
  • Highly competent in using XACT / Scheduling software, and preferably experience using Vulcan software (or similar).
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills with coordination capability.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a technical role in mining sector
  • Proven capability to operate in a complex environment, leading and facilitating diverse teams.
