About the role

In the role of Mechanical Reliability Engineer (Fixed Plant), you will be responsible for delivering engineering solutions, maintenance strategies, and defect elimination activities that will maintain compliance, improve operating performance and availability to ensure reliable and safe operations of GEMCO’s assets.

This permanent full-time role is being offered on a 4:3 DS Roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns, or potentially Residential on Groote Eylandt.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical expertise to Maintenance Execution to support work quality and safe execution of maintenance work
  • Close collaboration and partnership with the Asset Engineering & Capital Projects team for all Mechanical engineering governance and related capital projects
  • Develop and optimise long-term asset management plans and asset maintenance strategies
  • Data acquisition and analysis to identify, prioritise and implement improvement opportunities
  • Undertake complex fault-finding and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations into equipment defects and implement defect elimination countermeasures
  • Manage and coordinate service providers and vendors for Mechanical works and activities
  • Manage Statutory Maintenance Compliance. Responsible for maintaining site registered plant and safety critical equipment registers. Review and action reports.
  • Uphold and champion mechanical safety and compliance improvement

About you

You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic; and have a passion and commitment to be part of a high-performing team. You will have the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment, with demonstrated experience in asset management, reliability, and maintenance engineering.

To be considered for the role, you should have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience in a similar role within mining, minerals processing, or heavy industry
  • Proficient in the use of data, data interrogation and interpretation of standards to guide decision making
  • Monitoring and analysis of fixed plant performance and identification of opportunities for increased availability, reliability, and asset utilisation
  • Able to interact, engage, and communicate with all levels of the organisation
  • Proficiency in software such as SAP, MS Office; Power BI and OnePM will be highly regarded
