Location

Cannington is one of the world's largest and lowest-cost producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometers west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.

About the role

We’re hiring a Human Resources Manager to manage the on-site HR team at our exciting underground operation. You’ll be degree qualified in a related discipline (HR/IR/Organisational Behaviour/Change Management), with significant experience in leading a professional team to influence and contribute to decisions that improve performance within the team locally and to the decision making across the global HR function.

We will help you connect with new colleagues, so you can build strong work relationships, grow your knowledge of the mining and metals industry, and provide you with an environment that empowers you to get on with the job.

Reporting to the Senior Manager HR, this role is being offered on a permanent basis, on an 4/3 Mon to Thurs roster, fly-in fly-out from Brisbane or Townsville.

About you

You will be a good fit with this role if you have:

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute, influence and make decisions within multi-functional teams
  • Ability to select, develop, coach and mentor employees resulting in improved engagement, diversity, and organisational capability
  • Significant experience in industrial relations with a sound knowledge of industrial and employee relations theory, principles, policies, and practices within a heavy industry context
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a strong
  • partner service ethic to build strong internal and external relationships
