The purpose of this role is to provide specialised data analysis and visualisation, mine monitoring leadership and execute continuous monitoring, analysis and benchmarking of mining fleet performance, data accuracy and systems health. Identify and implement improvement initiatives that enable operational safety excellence and support business priorities. This role will be offered on a Permanent basis.

Boddington This role is based at the Boddington Bauxite Mine located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes) and the City of Mandurah (1 hour).

About the Role

  • Provide high-level technical services to BBM’s Operation Centre and fleet management facilities in the areas of mine monitoring and control; including computer networks to assist in guarantying safety, optimising operation, reducing cost and improving productivity.
  • Coordinates and project manage the installation and configuration of hardware and software for Mine monitoring and control (MMC) systems used at BBM including (but not limited to) Fleet management system, collision awareness system, operator alert systems (e.g fatigue) and machine health, as well as all tasks and activities relating to the maintenance and performance of the mine monitoring and control system components
  • Manages, troubleshoots and debugs MMC software
  • Creates and modifies internal reporting tools and databases for production data.
  • Monitors data integrity and coordinates with Operation Centre personnel to ensure all validation errors are corrected in a timely manner
  • Ensures MMC data is available and accessible to operational teams
  • Provide support and coaching in the use of the MMC Systems to operational teams


About You   

  • Tertiary qualified in Computing/Information Systems, Data Analytics, Electronics, Communications, Electrical or Mining Engineering or other relevant tertiary/trade qualification.
  • Ability to work both independently, under pressure, showing initiative, meeting deadlines/priorities and achieving outcomes in a complex environment
  • Experience with corporate and OT networks, including router, WiFi and LTE
  • Ability to develop common systems and standards working with employees not under direct authority lines
  • Able to make sense and explore new data sets with minimal guidance.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role within heavy industry
  • Operational experience in data analytics highly regarded
  • Proven ability of working in a team of technical professionals
