About the role
This is a permanent full-time role being offered on a 7:7 roster, FIFO ex Darwin or Cairns.
Reporting to the Senior Engineer Short-Term Planning, you will be a critical link in providing technical support for the planning and execution of backfill, subsoil, and topsoil movements within the 90-day horizon and ensure backfill, clearing and rehabilitation designs comply with GEMCO’s rehabilitation standards and enable best practices to be achieved.
Some of your main responsibilities will include:
- Working directly with the production planning, operational and environmental teams to provide in-the-field coordination to the delivery of the annual tree clearing and rehabilitation plans,
- Working within the production planning team to drive the two-week dump and haulage plan, and
- Design and issue high quality plans related to rehabilitation, dumping, and road designs for execution in the short-term execution space.
About you
You will have experience working in a similar role with demonstrated knowledge mine rehabilitation principals and a strong CAD background. Have a passion for helping the team deliver noteworthy outcomes and make the most out of limited resources.
To be considered for the role, you will have:
- Good communications skills and a passion for landform rehabilitation,
- Good CAD skills, preferably with experience in Vulcan or Deswik (or similar), and
- Sound computer literacy and office suit skills.
