ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 4-day, 10-hour per day-shift roster. Our Worsley Refinery is a short drive from communities such as Collie (20 Minutes) & Bunbury (45 Minutes) which all offer an enviable country lifestyle. Surrounded by magnificent jarrah forests, pristine beaches and world-famous wineries, you will live and work in one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia and still be home each night.
Candidates should ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie as there is no accommodation on site.
As Specialist Electrical you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and improving the high-voltage (HV) power distribution system at Worsley, ensuring reliability, safety, and effective maintenance planning.
Key deliverables for the role are, but aren’t limited to:
- Prioritise future maintenance activities through the Work Management Process. Priorities set in consultation with the HV Execution teams.
- Conduct detailed equipment failure investigations on the HV Power Distribution network and assets.
- In conjunction with maintenance execution and production teams, maintain a detailed understanding of critical HV equipment shortfalls and work to develop optimised solutions to eliminate defects & root causes.
- Develop and review maintenance strategies to meet the requirements of HV Safety Critical Equipment.
- Provide expertise to review, or support, maintainability and reliability specifications, as well as taking part in the handover activities of new HV systems commissioned by the Capital Projects team.
- Successfully promote and facilitate the Management of Change process in conjunction with Production stakeholders and equipment owners.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Essential - A minimum experience of between 10 and 15 years in heavy industry with High Voltage (HV) assets. Maintenance, commissioning, testing or repair of high-voltage electrical systems and equipment in heavy-industry or large-scale operations — with proven ability to manage HV assets and distribution networks.
- Essential - Demonstrated experience in Power System protection relay maintenance, programming, testing and commissioning.
- Experience with power & distribution transformers with voltage ranges from 415 volt to 132000 volt and 1 to 100MVA capacity will be highly regarded.
- Proficiency in software such as SAP and Microsoft Office will be highly regarded.
- Experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement techniques.
- Collaborate with groups of internal and external stakeholders including power utility, engineering and production teams..
Qualifications for this position are:
- An associate degree in electrical engineering would be preferred.
- Must have Grade A electrical licence.
- Must have an electrician trade background with heavy industry experience.
- High risk work license with High Voltage Switching Ticket and experience.
