ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on a 42-hour per week dayshift / nightshift roster. This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Port facility located in Bunbury, overlooking the magnificent coastal views of the South-West coast. Located a short drive from Bunbury City Centre you can base yourself in the heart of the city or any of the magnificent surrounding coastal communities.
Please note that accommodation is not provided on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out to site on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Boddington.
As the Refinery Process Operator, the purpose of this role is to safely execute production activities according to the schedule and operate the physical assets, plant and equipment as defined by HSEC requirements, the operations standards and operating procedures
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Execute port production activities (rail loading/unloading, shipping and housekeeping) according to the schedule.
- Understand Port material risks and undertake activities to ensure critical controls are maintained in line with the standard.
- Adhere to defined standard procedures and apply safe work practices.
- Monitor plant operating conditions and equipment to ensure production targets are met and where required raise work notifications for necessary works.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all events and hazards
- Understand the purpose and functionality of critical controls relevant to work tasks, ability to conduct risk assessments for tasks
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Overriding commitment to South32’s safety guarantee
- Demonstrated technical competence gained from minimum 2 years in mineral/oil/gas processing environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with team and follow safety and operating procedures
- Comfortable with working at heights
- Self-motivated and in pursuit of continuous self-improvement
- Ability to provide input in production improvements, fault finding and culture
Desired qualifications for this position are:
- HR Truck License
- EWP License
- Forklift License
- Dogman Qualification
- Certificate III in Process Plant Manufacturing
- Isolation and/or Clearance officer qualification
- Currently holds or can be appointed as S26 officer
