About the role
You will lead the Product team in continually building and managing our portfolio of products that will ensure we bring excitement to life of our customers. This highly visible leadership role involves leading and inspiring the Product team – the team, based in both Melbourne and Cluj, is made up of Heads of Product and Product Managers who oversee a broad Product Portfolio (Sport, Racing and Core). This role will drive the Product strategy and inspire people from all parts of the organisation to deliver best in class Products to market.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver our portfolio of product offerings to market to maximise growth and revenue
- Directly influence the direction of our products and lead a team who drive portfolio thought leadership through expert understanding of category landscape, including consumer needs, portfolio strengths and weaknesses, competitor positioning, regulatory constraints, and technology opportunities
- Define Product portfolio strategy, aligned to Sportsbet and group strategy
- Establish quarterly focus areas with supporting roadmap to deliver portfolio strategy
- Identify and validate new product related opportunities, working closely with Product development and technology delivery function to execute
- Lead an innovative mindset across the team and the business, effectively generating Product ideas for customers
- Use well developed industry knowledge to strategically direct product development
- Drive prioritisation of initiatives, in conjunction with the wider business
- Lead with focus, energy, and excitement, ensuring the Product team is the best place you’ll ever work
- Contribute to a culture of performance through focus on impact and a will to win
- Support continuous learning through coaching, mentoring and hands on technical support, building a standard of excellence for the Product Management function.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Ability to seek out and build relationships across the product management matrix
- Strong communication & presentation skills – with an ability to convey an idea/concept to build support
- Ability to initiate and drive change coupled with enterprise-wide thinking
- Ability to work on multiple projects and solve complex problems
- Strong evidence of people leadership
- Excellent knowledge of internal products, competitor’s products and current market
- Use industry knowledge to predict future challenges for the products
- Must be able to demonstrate experience across all aspects of product design launch and in market management
- Product portfolio leadership, with strong understanding of business drivers
- Strong commercial decision making
- Ability to lead technically complex products
- Commercial ability to produce business case and ROI projections for initiatives and to assess actual performance against projections
