About the role
Reporting into the Head of Legal, you will play an integral role in advising stakeholders across the Sportsbet business with a focus on the Commercial, Technology, Betting, Product & Data and Finance departments. The role involves supporting the business across a broad range of issues to achieve its key corporate and commercial objectives including increased technology innovation and data protection/privacy. The team will also partner with the business to explore wider business opportunities and adjacencies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing advice (and managing advice provided by external lawyers) on legal and regulatory issues of importance to the business in a range of commercial matters
- Act as a key support to the legal team and a go-to business partner for your departments to support and achieve their strategic objectives
- Drafting and negotiating of key agreements/major commercial transactions, including major sponsorships, technology agreements and M&A opportunities
- Prepare and review general business contracting/procurement for services and supply arrangements
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of legal training on a variety of topics central to their operations and compliance with obligations.
