About the role

Sportsbet’s Compliance & Process Optimisation Function is a centralised capability that accelerates the confidence of the Customer Leadership Team in the performance and scalability of our processes and systems (controls) that are relied on to meet our regulatory obligations and continuously drives (implements) efficiencies and scale in our Department as our environment evolves and changes. Our regulatory environment is diverse, canvassing AML, Safer Gambling, Privacy, Marketing, Advertising and CRM with a raft of changes on the horizon that we need to be ready for!

This uniquely positioned “line 1” function not only works through the Department to diagnose and assess the performance of the suite of controls to meet its regulatory obligations but drives and implements fixes to issues and gaps identified.

The Governance & Portfolio Manager is a key role within this function and will support the GM Compliance & Process Optimisation y in executing the function’s plan to deliver the intended strategic outcomes.

The role will be accountable for:

  • Program managing the portfolio of compliance assurance, regulatory change and control implementation (incl. audit items) across the Department in collaboration with the accountable Compliance & Process Optimisation Specialists
  • Maintaining a centralised catalogue of Regulatory Obligations, Controls and Outcomes of Assurance Testing so as to retain a single source of truth to be leverage for assurance, regulatory change impact assessment and incident management
  • Preparing regular status reports at a Portfolio Level regarding ongoing progress, performance and outcomes of assurance testing, regulatory change and control implementation
  • Acting a central point of contact for regulatory change with the Legal and External Affairs Functions and triage those changes through to the relevant Specialists for impact assessment, solution design and implementation
  • Acting as the Function’s GRC System Administrator, when Sportsbet’s GRC System is progressively implemented


About You

We’re looking for someone with a demonstrated ability develop and execute assurance programs of work to identify, assess and test controls and identify improvements for compliance and scalability. You will have strong communication skills, both verbally and written and be able to plans, organise and prioritizes tasks to manage workload and complete all requirements.

In addition, you will have:

  • Proven experience in driving and delivering performance optimization and improvement across processes, systems and vendors (i.e. Program Management and/or Governance)
  • Proven experience in making customer centric and risk-based decisions from performance indicators and data
  • A demonstrable track record working in high profiled, regulated industries
  • Proven experience building scaled, sustainable, technology enabled strategies through period of intense growth and driving these to delivery
  • Change management experience including designing; building and growing teams and shaping culture
