About the role

The AML Operations Lead is accountable for operationalising Sportsbet’s AML/CTF Program to support the organisation’s materially larger customer base and future growth ambitions.

As a key member of a high performing function, the AML operations Lead will supervise the execution the processes to manage the ML/TF risk in the organisation, to ensure we understand and respond to customer and third-party activity that may be suspicious and/or fraudulent.

This role will lead a team of Customer Integrity Specialists and provide day to day leadership whilst creating a high performing team culture.

Furthermore, the AML operations Lead will be responsible for:

  • Evaluating performance using key metrics such as accuracy, adherence, productivity, queue volumes, and finding workable solutions to ensure compliance
  • Supervising the execution of critical activities including KYC, Ongoing and Enhanced Customer Due Diligence, Sanctions and Political Exposed Persons identification and monitoring, transaction monitoring and Restricted Territories monitoring
  • Ensuring appropriate controls, systems and people are in place in order to effectively manage unusual activity reports, Law Enforcement requests and Adverse media alerts
  • Review and endorse the submission of suspicious matter reports to AUSTRAC
  • Motivating, coaching, and developing your team to deliver customer excellence during every step of the customer journey.

About You

We’re looking for someone with experience leading a larger team, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people! You will have the ability focus your attention on meeting the needs of our customers and ensuring satisfaction at all times! You will have previous experience (3 years minimum) in an operational experience in an AML/CTF environment.
