What do our Graduate Fire Protection Technicians do?
You will provide technical and design support to our fire protection engineering teams across a range of building projects. Working under close supervision, you will learn to use established technical standards, procedures, and methods to assist with the preparation of drawings, documentation, calculations, and construction support activities.
The role will see you using computer-aided design CAD, Revit or other specialist design software for fire protection systems. You will work with engineers, architects, technologists and technicians to understand the requirements of initial designs and turn them into accurate and detailed drawings in CAD and Revit models for a variety of small and large engineering projects.
Under the direction of Fire Protection Engineers, this is a selection of what you will be doing
Apply foundational knowledge of fire protection and building services design principles to support project investigations and technical assessments.
Assist with basic calculations, sizing, and system checks related to fire protection systems using company-approved tools and software.
Prepare and update technical drawings, layouts, schedules, specifications, and documentation , including work completed using CAD/Revit and related design software. Use a variety of computer-aided design (CAD) software programs to create designs in 2D and 3D models.
Assist in the interpretation of fire protection, building, and safety codes, and help verify designs against applicable standards and project requirements.

Qualifications
What you will bring
Diploma or Bachelor‑level Engineering Technologist qualification (Building Services or related field).
Knowledge or interest in fire protection systems, building services, and technical documentation.
Up to two years’ experience using CAD/Revit software and basic technical reporting (optional).
Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively in a professional consulting environment.
