About the role:

Stantec’s Buildings team in New Zealand delivers end-to-end projects for our clients, from feasibility and design through to construction, commissioning, and operation. Specialising in mission-critical facilities such as data centres and healthcare, our team of 100 brings expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, fire, electrical and sustainability engineering to local projects. We’re proud to put user needs at the centre of every design.

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our experienced team. This is a key opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on a leadership role delivering technically excellent and innovative electrical solutions across a diverse range of building projects.

You’ll work in a collaborative environment where your technical expertise and leadership will contribute to the continued growth and success of our electrical engineering services.

Day to day tasks will involve:

  • Lead the design and delivery of electrical services on a variety of building projects

  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines

  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure project expectations are exceeded

  • Prepare high-quality design documentation, including specifications and drawings (REVIT knowledge desirable)

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and quality assurance for junior engineers

  • Contribute to business development activities and help grow the electrical services division

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering (BE or equivalent)

  • 7 years’ experience in electrical building services design

  • Experience in Data Centre's and Healthcare facilities

  • Proven ability to manage and deliver complex projects on time and on budget

  • Strong understanding of NZ building codes and electrical standards

  • Proficiency in electrical design software and documentation tools (AGI, Power CAD)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • A proactive mindset and a passion for mentoring and team leadership

  • A commitment to quality, safety, and continual professional development
