About the role
Our Melbourne based Transport Delivery team is currently working on a broad range of transport infrastructure projects involving bridges for the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) and other transport clients across Australia, delivering major upgrades, replacements, and refurbishment projects.
To support the delivery of work packages and meet the growing demand for our national bridge and maritime structures team, we are currently seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our group. Working in our Melbourne office and collaborating with our national teams, you will be involved in a range of exciting bridge and marine structure projects in Victoria and across Australia, working together to help achieve our Transport Delivery business strategy.

Day to day tasks would involve:
Undertaking structural analysis, design, assessment and rehabilitation of bridges and maritime structure and associated transport infrastructure.
Delivering engineering designs and documentation for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, marine structures, and related civil infrastructure projects.
Prepare calculations, technical reports, design specifications, drawings, and project deliverables in accordance with project requirements and quality standards.
Coordinate multidisciplinary project inputs and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Perform design reviews and provide technical guidance to engineers, designers and drafters.
Support project managers in managing scope, schedule, budget, risks, and resourcing requirements.
Participate in site inspections, condition assessments, construction support services, and technical investigations.
Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, Austroads guidelines, Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) requirements, and relevant client standards.
Contribute to proposal preparation, bid submissions, and business development initiatives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, government agencies, and industry partners.
Mentor graduate and developing engineers through coaching, technical review, and knowledge sharing.
Promote and maintain a culture of safety, quality, innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Support achievement of regional and business centre performance objectives.
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering with a minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience in the delivery of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
Charted Professional Engineer (CPEng)
Experience with structural analysis software such as SPACEGASS, STRAND7, MIDAS
Familiarity with Austroads and Australian Standards, especially AS5100.
Previous experience working on major bridge works including Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) projects.
