About the role
The Project Manager role is key in maximising the performance of projects and is accountable for the successful delivery of projects. The depth and breadth of our engineering expertise has enabled us to develop customised project solutions, irrespective of scope, size, complexity, or location. With a commitment in providing professional advice, leadership and attention to detail; we constantly strive to deliver innovative and lasting solutions to our clients. The role can be based at any of our offices in Sydney.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Support Campaign and Proposal team to identify project opportunities and prepare proposal material with a focus on Stantec's Project Management Framework (PMF) practices, ensuring client requirements, scope/deliverables, risk, technical and commercial needs are achievable.
Be accountable for project set-up, all project management documentation and associated filing from start to completion including close out and archiving documents with assistance from Project Support personnel and in accordance with the PMF.
Establish project plans including safety, resourcing, finance, risk, quality and design management in conjunction with the technical team, project Technical Leads/Project Engineers, Project Support personnel and Project Accounting to ensure all aspects of the project are planned prior to project execution.
Monitor and control the delivery of project tasks to ensure delivery is in line with project plans, scope, budgets, schedule, client and safety requirements, including regular invoicing (WIP), debt follow up and collection (AR).
Manage and resolve project issues collaboratively and as they arise, escalating them when required.
Contract management including the implementation of complex and detailed terms and conditions.
Qualifications
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Tertiary qualification in Engineering/ Project Management or other relevant discipline with a minimum of 8 year’s relevant experience as a Project Manager.
Experience in managing and monitoring project delivery through the project life cycle.
Managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver project outcomes that align with client expectations.
Experience working in delivering successful projects within a design consulting environment, preferably in Roads, Bridges and Rail projects.
Well-developed problem solving and negotiations skills to resolve queries
