Description
Our Water Division is experiencing significant growth, presenting the opportunity for a Senior Process or Mechanical Engineer to be based in our Sydney office.
This position is crucial for providing technical expertise and lead a Tertiary Filtration package as part of a Major Project for a key water utility client. You will be responsible for developing and delivering the most appropriate technical solution for this package, in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary design team. This role will involve leading and designing a Tertiary Filtration package on a complex brownfield treatment facility, including interfaces with Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical and EI&C disciplines, and other upstream/downstream design packages. Ultimately, this role will drive the development of reliable, fit-for-purpose, and cost-effective outcomes for our client, as well as delivering the agreed outputs on budget, on time and to quality standards.
A day in the life of a Senior Process/Mechanical Engineer (Package Lead – Tertiary Filtration):
Plan and undertake pre-design studies, site investigations, design works, as well as construction and commissioning support activities associated with the Tertiary Filtration package.
Drive quality, timeliness and budgetary outcomes for technical deliverables produced by the multi-disciplinary design team involved in the package.
Coordinate all multi‐disciplinary activities and inputs by the technical team, including specialist inputs, to ensure an integrated technical solution for the package.
Undertake internal technical reviews and verification checks on all aspects of the package, as required.
Support our delivery teams during design and construction, acting in a technical leadership role on the projects.
Focus on the development of our water and wastewater project delivery expertise, locally and across the ANZ business.
Assist in the pursuit and proposal phase of key business development opportunities.
Contribute to proposal and bid development to support business development activities, including preparing proposal and ensuring that proposals are prepared to a high standard.
So, what do you need to bring to take your career to the next level?
Tertiary Qualification in relevant Engineering field along with CPEng (or ability to obtain).
Over 8 years civil/infrastructure engineering experience – design and construction.
Established technical abilities and experience with design and delivery of ultrafiltration membranes and tertiary treatment processes.
Leadership experience, including managing client stakeholders, subcontractors, and a vibrant multi-disciplinary team is ideal.
Good knowledge of the delivery environment, ideally in the field of water and wastewater design services.
Highly developed problem solving and negotiation skills to resolve disputes that arise.
Strong understanding of D&C or alternative delivery projects.
Solid report writing with the ability to tell a compelling story.
