We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our thriving Sydney office to focus on the design, construction, operation and maintenance of machines and mechanical systems for engineering projects in our Water Division. You will work under the general direction of a Senior Engineer and be responsible for a small project or part of a project/ operation requiring a sound knowledge of mechanical engineering.
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for:
Performing mechanical engineering design which may include engineering drawings, calculations, reports, design criteria, to support engineering projects.
Performing calculations to analyze and design mechanical system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
Assisting in the evaluation and selection of mechanical systems and materials and the development of mechanical specifications.
Contributing to the development of mechanical systems, through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
Assisting in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.
Coordinating with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
Preparing mechanical engineering documents by developing engineering specifications, plans and schedules.
Assisting in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.
To be successful for this role you'll present:
Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 to 4 years post grad experience.
Well-rounded experience in the Water and Waste Water industry.
Highly developed interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
Highly developed consulting skills to liaise with clients and other stakeholders to achieve mutually successful project outcomes.
Have full Australian Working rights.
