About the role
Our Sydney based Transport Delivery team has had significant growth, and with many exciting major infrastructure projects in the pipeline, this role will be responsible in overseeing the delivery of projects to ensure the on-going profitability and success of the business by providing technical leadership on local design outputs and ensuring all work meet the requirements of the clients and stakeholders.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Management of design packages of small- and large-scale projects.
Develop design concepts and carry out detailed design of simple and complex bridges, underpasses, retaining walls and other infrastructure structures.
Provide bridge / structural designs, and technical reviews associated with various projects.
Prepare design documentation, technical reports and client specifications.
Provide design expertise on large and small projects during tender and proposal writing.
Lead the preparation of engineering development proposals and feasibility studies.
Liaise with stakeholders to ensure that work is within scope and complies with appropriate standards and guidelines.
Mentor, train and coach junior senior staff with respect to their career growth and professional development.
Qualifications
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering with a demonstrated 10 to 15 years' experience in the delivery of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
Charted Professional Engineer (CPEng) would be preferred.
Experience in bridge design/engineering as well as other structural design projects, including bridge and road infrastructure, temporary works etc.
Analysis and modelling experience in a range of software packages, e.g. Microstran, Spacegass, Strand 7, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design (ASBD), MIDAS civil.
Strong working knowledge of Australian codes and standards, regulatory requirements, guidelines, current trends and legislation in order to deliver innovative and practical solutions.
