Job summary
Our established and growing Perth Civil team is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer - Water! Stantec have a strong pipeline of work in the Health, Defence, Land Development (subdivision) and Commercial sectors and are looking for passionate members to join our team.
About the role
Contribute to Stantec business goals by providing professional water and engineering skills in the areas of water and wastewater infrastructure, and broader infrastructure engineering. Provide total and integrated approaches to technical leaders and project managers to ensure that project outcomes meet or exceed both the client and Stantec expectations. Identify opportunities and develop business in the fields of water and wastewater infrastructure services in line with Stantec business strategies. Work with the Group Leader and Senior staff to develop Graduate and Intermediate staff in delivering technical excellence.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Manage and assist in the civil engineering, hydraulic modelling and feasibility/concept design of water and wastewater infrastructure as lead or member of a larger team
Provide technical expertise in water engineering to meet project needs and client expectations, including both modelling and planning.
Ensure all technical outputs conform to the project scope, are safe and are of appropriate quality (confirmed by independent review).
Work with local, national or global teams as required to deliver appropriate outcomes for the client.
Actively participate in Stantec Information sharing network including knowledge forums and other such initiatives that the Company may promote from time to time.
Support the development and expansion of the Company’s capability in the fields of water and wastewater planning, including obtaining new clients and/or new work from existing clients.
Support the development of other team members through technical advice and guidance.
Key resource in completing chargeable projects and acts as a key link between graduates and project technical leads/managers when required.
Promote our brand through client interaction.
Contribute to proposal and bid development to support business development activities, including preparing proposal material as required.
Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality, Safety & Environment Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
Minimise and control risk by commitment to the Stantec Quality, Health & Safety programmes and ensuring proactive use of our project management systems.
Work towards a professional qualification and maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Other duties as reasonably required.
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
Chartered Professional status with relevant engineering body (preferred)
Experience in the civil related design and delivery of land development and building projects
Ability to use initiative and think outside the box
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
Attention to detail
Positive, can-do attitude
