Collaborating with Transport Engineering team you will lead in BIM coordination of major road infrastructure projects bringing the design to reality.

The Role

The NSW Transport Business unit work with clients from the public and private sectors on small to large transport infrastructure projects. The transport team have a range of professionals dedicated to transport planning, road, geotechnical and bridge design, as well as digital engineering services, offering clients a range of services.

At Stantec, we offer a range of Digital Engineering services and support including AR, VR, Visualisation and Digitial engineering advisory on behalf of our clients.

As the Digital Engineering Technician, you will bring to life the digital engineering for all major transport infrastructure projects as you collaborate across the business unit and the wider Stantec group. Coordinating designs of roads, structures, utilities as well as existing conditions, you will be responsible for model federation, coordination workshops and provide advice on innovative solutions, where necessary.

Based in St Leonard's on Sydney’s lower north shore, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about digital engineering to work on some of NSW major infrastructure projects and to gain one to one mentorship.

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Work closely with the Digital Engineering (DE) Coordinator in project delivery (3D modelling) for infrastructure projects, primarily rail, roads and highways.

  • Collaborate with project teams to deliver the project within time and budget constraints.

  • Participating in DE related meetings (project workshops) and presentations (internal workshops and training seminars), providing clash reporting and coordinating clash report responses for project teams, as well as providing the Digital Engineering Coordinator with consolidated information for suitable project managerial meetings. You will also interface with project document control teams to ensure related project standards are followed by the design team and assist in package submission for design related data/information.

  • Assist with training and development of the Regional Transport team in DE skills, knowledge and tool uptake, you will also assist in short, targeted training sessions and ad hoc team support with technology or process queries.

  • Ensuring QA and QC checks of models are carried out in accordance the scope of the project.

  • Assist and drive new DE technologies, processes and assist in implementation of systems related to CDE software.

Qualifications

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Associate Diploma / Diploma in Engineering or other relevant qualification

  • Established experience working with BIM 360, 12d Synergy and/or ProjectWise

  • Understanding of Navisworks, Civil 3D / 12d Model and AutoCAD

  • Preferably experience working on TfNSW/RMS road infrastructure projects

  • Knowledge of national and international BIM/DE standards and protocols

  • Confident in verbally presenting outcomes to a project team offering solutions for change

  • You will be an advocate for the innovation initiatives coming from the regional DE Manager as well as the Australian digital leadership team

  • You will be a proactive, organised, enthusiastic, with the right combination of talent, energy and a commitment to quality service delivery
