The Role
The NSW Transport Business Unit work with clients from the public and private sectors on small to large transport infrastructure projects. The transport team have a range of professionals dedicated to transport planning, road, geotechnical and bridge design, as well as digital engineering services, offering clients a range of services. At Stantec, we offer a range of Digital Engineering (DE) services and support including AR, VR, Visualisation and DE advisory on behalf of our clients.
As the Transport Digital Engineering Technician and a junior member of the digital team, you will help the enablement of digital engineering for all major transport infrastructure projects as you collaborate across the business unit. Helping to coordinate designs of roads, structures, utilities as well as existing project conditions, you will assist with bringing together our project models (model federation), provide input to the DE Coordinator for coordination workshops and ultimately provide advice on innovative solutions, where necessary.

Day to day tasks would involve:
Work closely with the Digital Engineering (DE) Coordinator in project delivery (3D modelling) for infrastructure projects, primarily rail, roads and highways.
Participate in DE related meetings (project workshops) and presentations (internal workshops and training seminars)
Provide inputs for clash reporting, coordinated by the Digital Engineering Coordinator.
You will also support and interface with project document control to help ensure project standards are followed and projects submissions are on time.
Assist the DE Coordinator with training and development of the Regional Transport team in DE skills, knowledge and tool uptake.
Support the DE Coordinator ensuring QA and QC checks of models are carried out in accordance the scope of the project.
Assist with the roll out of new DE technologies, processes and assist in implementation of systems related to CDE software.
Qualifications
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Associate Diploma / Diploma in Engineering or other relevant qualification (At least 50% completed)
Awareness of what a CDE is.
Awareness of Navisworks, Civil 3D / 12d Model and AutoCAD
Demonstrated interest in learning new tools and software (Coding, gaming, CAD, etc)
Confident in verbally presenting outcomes to a project team offering solutions for change
You will be an advocate for the innovation initiatives coming from the regional DE Manager as well as the Australian digital leadership team
You will be proactive, organised and enthusiastic.
