About the role:

As the CAD Drafter and Revit Modeler you will be responsible in performing tasks which include drafting, assisting with plans and designs for a wide range of industries from engineering, environmental services and construction to manufacturing, while working closely with architects and design engineers to understand the requirements of initial designs and turn them into accurate and detailed technical drawings in 2D and 3D models for a variety of large and small engineering projects.

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Engage in the development of design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats, and prepare and revise documentation in various phases such as site plans, utility plan/profiles, grading plans, cross sections, diagrams, submittal reviews and response to information requests as required.

  • Provide plans by operating computer-aided design (CAD) system; analyze design options; evaluate construction implications, prepare advanced drawings as well as interpret requirements to modify existing drawings per change control procedures.

  • Coordinate submittals for clients, governmental agencies, permitting agencies, etc. for reviews, approvals, and other milestones.

  • Assist senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project requirements including contributing to cost estimates, staffing and schedule as it relates to computer-aided design (CAD).

  • Use knowledge of tools and drafting to complete assigned tasks including 2D and 3D model development, complete design changes, general arrangement drawing production using computer-aided design (CAD) platforms.

  • Train and/or mentor computer-aided design (CAD) staff and entry-level engineers in company procedures, computer-aided design (CAD) standards, and software.

Qualifications

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Minimum of Associate's Degree or Diploma/Certificate Computer-Aided Design Technology.

  • Ideally you should have 3 years of experience.

  • Self-motivated and self-directed

  • Interest in working on a broad variety of projects.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers and clients.
