About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Principal / Senior Acoustics Engineer to join our Acoustics team within our national Environmental & Geosciences team. This role has the flexibility to be based in any of our offices in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Wollongong, Maroochydore (Sunshine Coast) or our Gold Coast office with work from home and other flexibility options. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects focusing on transport and environmental acoustics around Australia. You will not be limited on the kind of work you get involved in including event noise management at some of Queensland's largest venues, building acoustics, ecological acoustics, construction noise and vibration management and more.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Providing technical design, analysis and documentation services
Monitoring, modelling and reporting on a wide range of noise and vibration impact assessment projects
Modelling, analysis and interpretation of results using specialized computer noise modelling software
Leading projects including concept design, development applications, detailed design and final certification
Supporting existing key client relationships while being actively involved in new client business development
Providing input to resourcing and budgeting requirements to ensure commercial deadlines are met
Managing projects autonomously while working collaboratively with the team in delivering projects
To be successful for this role you’ll need:
Tertiary qualifications in Acoustic Engineering or related Environmental Science, Audio Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SoundPLAN and ideally EASE and BOSE noise modelling software
The ability to work independently and manage projects in an autonomous fashion
Strong communication and client management skills
Comprehensive knowledge of local, state and national standards and policies relating to acoustic assessment and design
A commercial ability to build new client relationships and develop additional revenue streams
Well-developed written skills to prepare proposals, reports and presentations
A ‘team player’ attitude and approach to work
