Description

Our Structural team within Community Development business unit in Perth is seeking an Intermediate or Senior level Structural Engineer in a permanent full-time role. Based in our Adelaide Terrace office and reporting to the Team Lead this role will suit someone who is familiar with working in Buildings, building construction who can inspect and coordinate architectural and building services.

In this role, you will be performing wide variety of building structural design, developing project scopes and budgets, managing design process and overseeing design elements through construction.

About the role

  • Perform broad, varied and diverse structural engineering design tasks on assigned projects under general supervision of the lead or manager, including engineering drawings, engineering reports, presentations, and required applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies.

  • Engage in the development of design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats, and prepare and revise documentation in various structural phases including site plans, cross sections, diagrams, submittal reviews and response to information requests as required.

  • Assist project engineers with developing and managing the project scope including cost estimates, budget, staffing and schedule.

  • Assist the senior project structural engineer in preparing the conceptual, preliminary and final design and attends client project requirement meetings.

  • Involved in the permit process, which may require meetings with clients, contractors, reviewing agency personnel and governing entities.

  • Prepare portions of engineering project proposals, change orders, client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.

  • Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments serve as a liaison between project engineer and design team.

  • Prepare structural engineering feasibility studies by analysing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data.

  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation anticipate future legislation, enforce adherence to requirements, advise management on needed actions.

  • Confirm adherence to construction specifications during each phase of a project. Monitor project progress, inspect construction sites, and verify calculations and placements.

About you

  • Demonstrated structural design experience within commercial and industrial

  • Familiarity with Australian Codes and standards preferred.

  • Experience in reporting, structural condition assessments, remediation works.

  • Experience in project management, ability to co-ordinate works across disciplines.

  • Experience in co-ordination with other members of team, drafting, engineering etc.

  • Experience in construction management, liaising with contractors and builders on site

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering with specialty in Structural Engineering. CPEng preferred but not required
