About the role
This role will see you working closely with industry specialists to undertake and coordinate environmental approvals for high profile, challenging projects for a range of clients from multinationals to local companies. Stantec is currently undertaking numerous complex assessments under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (WA) and Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth).
You will be given the opportunity to utilise your science background within a well-structured team to problem solve, provide technical insight, and communicate with other multi-disciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, drafters, project administrators and contractors, enabling you to further develop your skills working in a fast-paced, consulting environment.
As part of this opportunity, you will gain experience in project management, proposal development and developing relationships with clients and stakeholders on a wide range of small to large projects. You will also support the continued growth of our business and foster the development of environmental approvals capability across our mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Support our team by providing specialist environmental approvals advice and assessment services on a range of projects in the mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
Provide technical support that ensures project outcomes meet or exceed both client and Stantec’s expectations.
Plan, coordinate and manage approvals projects where required.
Work within budgets and timeframes, while providing high quality deliverables for projects.
Identify opportunities and develop business within the approvals team.
To be successful for this role you’ll need:
Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or related discipline.
2 years’ industry experience, preferably working within a consulting environment;
Knowledge of State (WA) and Federal environmental legislation and approvals framework;
Experience in mining and/or linear infrastructure projects;
Experience in the preparation of Native Vegetation Clearing Permits, Environmental Referrals, Works Approvals, and Mining Proposals is highly desirable.
