About the role

Our established Coastal team provides effective and efficient delivery of coastal engineering services for public and private sector clients including coastal modelling, coastal process assessments and coastal structure design within Australia and across Asia Pacific. We are currently looking for a Coastal Engineer to join our team based in our Melbourne office with flexible working arrangements available including WFH. We are also flexible to consider other locations across Australia. Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Assisting with key projects to ensure output is of a technically high standard

  • Assisting with coastal processes investigations (hydraulics, sediment transport and water quality)

  • Assisting with coastal infrastructure projects including feasibility studies, condition assessments, design of coastal structures and dredging studies

  • Overseeing numerical modelling to simulate oceanographic and coastal processes

  • Building strong relationships with clients as well as environmental and water related disciplines to deliver projects

  • Site visits as required

To be successful for this role you’ll need:

  • Degree level qualifications in Engineering/Engineering (Coastal/Marine focus preferred)

  • Experience within the field of coastal/marine data collection, environmental assessment, coastal structure condition assessment, coastal processes investigations and coastal engineering design

  • Working knowledge of the various coastal and ocean modelling systems

  • Experience designing coastal structures such as breakwaters and groynes would be preferred

  • An ability to work independently and within a team environment.

  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
