About the role

You will be leading the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects ensuring the projects are within scope, budget and time. Working collaboratively with the team you will coordinate resources in the planning and design of complex innovate solutions. The focus of this role is on road design as well as management, and will be integral in the successful delivery of many large scale Road and Transport projects. Based in our Melbourne office, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive global organisation with a great team culture.

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Lead and oversee the technical delivery of complex and/or major projects to ensure deliverables meet or exceed client and project expectations including resolving any technical issues that arise.

  • Provide individual, team and technical leadership and coaching to members of the local team to ensure project performance and career development opportunities for individuals to reach their full potential.

  • Develop and adapt relevant techniques and processes and provide technical input in projects at critical stages

  • Collaborate with project group maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders

  • Oversee implementation of company systems and policies that ensure standards for all work are maintained for technical performance and avoidance of professional liability

Qualifications

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering

  • Demonstrated 7-12 years’ experience within roads and highways with knowledge of technical standards and industry practice

  • Familiarity with local authority and state government approval and regulatory requirements

  • Growing understanding of commercial concepts (i.e. financial, legal).

  • Thorough knowledge, or ability to gain thorough knowledge, of relevant standards, legislation and Australian Standards.
