About the role:
Our growing Transport Delivery business has an industry-leading reputation to deliver Transport Infrastructure design across State Government, municipal, and private sector with focus on MRPV, NELA and SRLA Projects.
In this newly created Civil Drafting Lead position you will work closely with our Transport Delivery team to plan, conduct and coordinate design assignments, involving several smaller and higher revenue major infrastructure projects, of varying complexities by providing accurate and efficient design services, as well as leading, managing and growing a drafting team.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Participate in short and long-term planning and make independent decisions on drafting/ design policies and procedures within an overall program.
Supervise drawings / designs using standard methods and techniques. (PTV, VicRoads, Council standards)
Complete drafting documentation in accordance with procedures
Operate CAD, MicroStation and other drafting/design computer programs
Complete, review and validate design drawings and documentation
Lead, guide and manage a team of drafters and identify opportunities to develop staff
Plan project resources and business unit resource needs in consultation with business unit leader.
Qualifications
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Tertiary qualifications in Drafting or Engineering and/or relevant equivalent work experience
Experience in the operation of software design tools such as AutoCAD packages and MicroStation
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
Ability to solve problems utilising existing procedures
Strong client focus, high level of motivation and dedication and the ability work well in a team environment.
