About the role

We are seeking a Senior or Principal level Civil Engineer with urban and land development experience to lead the community development team of engineers, designers and drafters in our Townsville office.

You will be the 2IC responsible for technical design, office management and strategic direction of all aspects of the Civil Group. You will represent the company externally to Clients and play a senior and active role in managing these relationships.

You will enjoy a diverse position and will need to have the ability to multitask and share your time between project involvement, business development, group performance and management responsibilities.

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Design, documentation and construction phase activities including project review, liaison with client and consultant team, liaison with authorities, reporting, contract administration and quality audits.

  • Ensure that the civil team maintains an appropriate level of service to key Clients

  • Civil team performance and financial targets

  • Mentoring engineers, designers, and drafters to enable them to perform successfully at all levels.

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and proactively engage with your discipline colleagues across ANZ and the world.

  • Adhere to professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures.

  • Contribute to our company culture.

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering

  • Demonstrated civil design and management experience ideally in urban development

  • Relevant registration and professional accreditations

  • Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards

  • Team leadership and mentoring experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
