About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our Sydney based team on a full-time basis. You will be a part of our multi-disciplinary team working across various projects types including retail, hotels, commercial, residential, shopping centres, industrial, healthcare, and education.
The role will enable the successful candidate to develop in a professional and personal sense and to forge a challenging and rewarding in career path in a successful consultancy.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Responsible for planning and managing projects from initial concept through to installation and commissioning
Demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge, providing oversight and supervision to ensure successful project delivery
Provide technical competence in the planning and design of complex projects
Represent Stantec externally to Clients, playing a senior and active role in managing these relationships
Successfully manage project resourcing requirements and delegate to your team members
Wet & Dry Fire Protection service design, in accordance with Stantec's quality standards
Prepare and present presentations to external clients & stakeholders
Keep up to date with deliverables and meet project timeframes
Provide input throughout the Construction phase by attending meetings and conducting site inspections.
What we are ideally looking for:
Have experience working within a design consultancy environment
Have experience in designing Wet & Dry Fire Protection Systems
FPAA FPAS Fire System Design Accredited
Have experience planning and managing successful projects
Strong technical knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and Relevant Australian Standards
Ability to review BCA Reports and liaison with BCA Consultants
Ability to review Fire Engineering Briefs (FEB) and Fire Engineering Reports (FER) and liaison with Fire Safety Engineers to establish Fire Safety Engineering Performance Solutions
Familiar with regulatory applications & submissions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Positive, can-do attitude
Ability to work within a team structure and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
