About the role
We are looking for a pro-active and motivated Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our growing Sydney team.
The successful applicant will have experience delivering sustainability on projects within the buildings sector and be able to work independently and self-manage deadlines.
The role will enable the successful applicant to continue to develop in a professional and personal sense and to forge a career path in a successful, award-winning consultancy. While the role will be focused on the property and buildings sector, there are opportunities to support the delivery of infrastructure sustainability as well as support broader carbon and climate change consulting work.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Develop analytical models for all kinds of building structures and prepare thorough and self-reviewed calculation packages
Provide required support to staff assisting on your projects to ensure clear direction, profitable outcome, QA adherence, risk management and team morale.
Represent Stantec externally to clients and play a senior and active role in managing these relationships.
Mentoring to more junior staff members
Oversee the documentation process and review evolving documents for technical correctness
Support clients on technical queries throughout the Construction phase by attending meetings and conducting site inspections.
Ability to deliver projects with minimal supervision
Clearly communicate sustainability recommendations and options to clients, authorities, contractors and project teams
Be a technical and strategic leader within the Section.
Adhere to Stantec professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures
Contribute to the overall strategy and development of the Sustainability team and to our company culture.
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Tertiary qualification in Sustainability, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering or other relevant discipline
Experience in NCC and other regulatory codes
Green Star, NatHERS and WELL understanding, plus accreditation and expertise in at least one
Experience with IES VE, EnergyPlus software is desirable
Previous experience working in an Engineering consultancy environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
Problem solving mindset with strong interpersonal skills
