About the role

In this position you will provide leadership to your market aligned teams to ensure alignment to company vision, strategy, initiatives, and culture. You will be the advocate of the business both internally within Stantec and externally to clients and professional organisations and work in collaboration with a team of technical experts while creating a team that achieves the outcomes and objectives identified in the Transport delivery business strategy.

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Perform on technically complex projects and act as a technical resource to other team members.

  • Apply advanced knowledge of current principles and practices of structural engineering and keep informed of new methods and developments.

  • Apply knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve complex issues where precedent may be limited.

  • Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for small size projects, and support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, participating in client interviews, and supporting negotiations for project contracts.

  • Support the Business Leader with monitoring and reporting on the performance of the teams.

  • Initiate and manage business development opportunities, actively participate in and lead client service through establishing and maintaining strong relationships.

  • Work with the Business Leader in preparing annual BC business plans.

Qualifications

To be successful for the role you’ll need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering

  • 12 to 15 years’ related work, leadership, financial management and consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

  • Charted Professional Engineer (CPEng)

  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and encourage collaboration
